    About the author

Jac Jenkins lives on a small beef farm in the Far North of New Zealand with her partner, some chooks, too many ducks and an ever-expanding mob of once-tame but now increasingly feral sheep.

A poetry enthusiast from a young age, Jac finally committed to formal study and serious writing in her mid-forties. Her writing achievements range from publication in journals such as Turbine | Kapohau, Room Magazine (Canada), The American Journal of Poetry and Landfall to winning the takahē 2013 Poetry Competition, and achieving a distinction grade in her MA in Creative Writing.

[Moon too Heavy] has a confident musicality & an artful physicality, which I am always drawn to … it contains just the right amount of poems, nothing more, which I am always impressed by & jealous of.
